SGS-CEBEC Inaugurates New Laboratory in Brussels
SGS-CEBEC recently inaugurated its new laboratory for electrical safety and product performance testing. The new SGS-CEBEC laboratory is designed and organized to run tests faster and with greater efficiency. The number of testing devices has been increased to allow several testing procedures to take place simultaneously. Among these devices are an endurance chamber for lighting fixtures, an IP chamber, three climatic chambers and a series of drying ovens. The laboratory has also acquired an electromagnetic field (EMF) testing tool, which can measure the field emitted by household appliances.
Along with the new laboratory's expanded capabilities, SGS-CEBEC is also launching a performance testing or "fit-for-use (FFU)" testing service which classifies electrical products based on their suitability for the type of use they are sold for.
