SGS CEBEC hosts Safety Gate Meeting

We depend on electrical devices in our day-to-day lives. At home, in the office, on worksites and everywhere else. As consumers, we also trust these products to be safe. We rely on them to conform to certain standards. And therefore, there are specific standards and regulations that different electrical and electronic devices are required to fulfil. 

SGS CEBEC is a world leader for inspection, verification, testing and certification. We offer services that support manufactures in developing, assessing, and ensuring the absolute safety of electrical and electronic products. 

The CEBEC mark on an electrical product means that it complies with the Belgian standards related to the safety of persons, goods, and domestic animals. The Belgian standards are, in most of the cases, equivalent to the European EN and International IEC standards. For some kind of products, Belgian specificities may exist.  

The products are tested in the SGS CEBEC reference laboratory or in approved manufacturer’s laboratories under the supervision and strict control of SGS CEBEC. The CEBEC mark certification can be combined with European certifications like HAR, ENEC, ENEC+, CCA and international certifications like IECEE CB.

Every year the European Commission publishes its annual report on the Safety Gate, the EU rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products. The report covers alerts notified during the previous year and the actions taken by national authorities in response.
